Everyone has their own journey in life. It’s amazing how you can be oblivious to someone or something until it touches you. Are some journeys more difficult than others? You might think so, but then it depends on what you consider to be difficult. Life is never truly easy and everybody faces challenges and struggles, the only difference is you can see some people’s struggles while others can hide theirs. This is not me… I do not share my personal life with the public, I barely post on Facebook. I never thought about writing a blog, nor did I think anyone would want to read it. But sometimes your life’s journey points you in a direction you never intended to take. That direction for me is being a mother to a child with needs different than yours. I don’t like labels, I don’t like the word disabled or handicapped as a label, or special needs. Why are her needs special just because they are different from yours or mine? This is why I am sharing our journey, to bring awareness and acceptance. To share joy and love and light. To help others see the person and not their differences. I need to make a difference in this world and I am going to start by sharing our story with this blog.
